Agent float in agency banking

Agent float is the lifeblood of agency banking. It’s the cash or credit available to agents, enabling them to conduct financial transactions on behalf of financial institutions in areas with limited banking access.

By providing agents with sufficient float, financial institutions ensure uninterrupted service to customers, facilitating transactions like cash deposits and withdrawals. This working capital is essential for maintaining a smooth and efficient agency banking network.

Challenges in agent network liquidity management

Insufficient float is a primary challenge for agents, leading to declined transactions, customer dissatisfaction, and damage to the institution’s reputation. Rebalancing accounts and addressing liquidity shortages can also increase operational costs.

These challenges can result in missed revenue opportunities, disrupted operations, reduced efficiency, and even non-compliance with liquidity regulations. These can potentially lead to fines and penalties.

In Latin America, financial inclusion remains a paradox. While 74% of the population has access to financial services, many continue to remain unbanked or underbanked. A modern and automated approach to lending is the need of the hour to ensure higher financial inclusivity and development.

Traditional loan origination and management systems (LOMS) struggle to meet the growing demand for more efficient and user-centric lending processes. The fast-changing financial industry must shift from conventional to fully digitalized, automated loan management software.

MobiFin’s webinar, “Re-inventing Lending: A Step-by-Step Playbook,” highlights the transformative power of the digital lending process. This extensive playbook sheds light on the drawbacks of traditional loan management and presents actionable insights and detailed strategies for financial institutions to modernize their lending systems, drive business growth, and enhance financial inclusion.

Latin America’s financial inclusion paradox

Although financial account ownership in Latin America is prevalent, many still rely on informal lending or need help accessing credit. A staggering 7 in 10 people remain underbanked or unbanked in the region, underscoring the limitations of existing financial systems.

For lenders, this presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Traditional LOMS are weighed down by high operational costs, manual approaches, and inefficiencies, making them under-equipped to meet the requirements of underserved populations.

To bridge this gap, financial institutions must streamline processes and lessen lender-borrower friction through digital lending solutions.

Diana’s Journey – a case study in the traditional lending process

To better understand the challenges of traditional loan management, let’s follow Diana’s journey as a rural entrepreneur seeking a loan to start a business.

Like many others, Diana’s path to securing a loan is fraught with inefficiencies like:

Multiple branch visits: Diana frequently visits bank branches to gather information and manually submit her loan application.

Data entry errors: Manual data entry can lead to errors, requiring Diana to revisit the bank to correct her details.

Lengthy verification process: The loan approval process stretches beyond her expectations, as in-person document verification and manual credit evaluation can be time-consuming.

Delayed disbursement: After a long and frustrating 30-day wait, Diana finally receives her loan, but only after significant delays caused by lost/missing documents and slow communication.

Cumbersome repayment and monitoring: Even after the loan is disbursed, Diana must visit the bank regularly for updates on her loan status and repayments.

Diana is not alone in her borrowing experience—many loan customers face similar problems, contributing to dissatisfaction and deterring potential customers. For financial institutions, such manual, time-consuming processes result in higher operational costs and increased risks of errors and fraud.

The solution – a step-by-step playbook for LOMS modernization

To address these challenges, MobiFin’s Step-by-Step Playbook charts a path for financial institutions to modernize their lending systems, emphasizing automation, digitization, and customer-centric design.

Automating loan inquiries

In a digital LOMS, borrowers like Diana can avoid making multiple branch visits. They can access the self-service portal to inquire about loan products, submit initial applications, and gain real-time information. This substantially reduces the waiting time and manual intervention.

Simplifying the loan application process

Paper-based forms are replaced by digital loan application forms, which aid borrowers in filling out applications online quickly and safely. Borrowers can upload supporting documents using a secure portal that ensures data accuracy and reduces error risks.

Accelerating document verification

AI-powered tools and eKYC eliminate the need for in-person verification and speed up the overall loan process. AI-powered tools and eKYC automate document verification, enabling lenders to evaluate creditworthiness within hours, which is not the case with manual loan processing.

Fast and transparent loan disbursement

Instead of 30 days, automated systems in place can disburse loans within 24 hours. Borrowers receive instant notifications through email or SMS, keeping them informed at every level. This transparency builds trust and lessens borrower anxiety.

Real-time loan monitoring

Digital lending systems offer borrowers a digital dashboard that gives real-time updates on their loans, outstanding dues, and payment dates. Since they get automated reminders, borrowers tend to stay on track with their repayments, thus improving collection rates and reducing delinquency.

Streamlining loan repayment and collections

Borrowers can set up recurring payments from their digital wallets or bank accounts directly using automated repayment systems. In unexpected/dire circumstances, borrowers can adjust their payment schedule through a convenient self-service portal, providing greater flexibility.

AI and the future of lending

AI has the power to shape the future of digital lending. AI-powered credit scoring models assess traditional and non-traditional data like mobile phone usage and social media activity to evaluate borrower risk more authentically. This opens up lending opportunities for underbanked populations with no formal credit history.

Financial inclusion remains a pressing global concern, with nearly 1.4 billion unbanked and excluded from formal financial systems. Such lack of access limits their ability to save, borrow, and invest. Furthermore, the Global Findex Database reports that 30% of adults in developing economies do not use formal financial services.

While traditional lending processes serve their purpose, they fall short of reaching the unbanked, especially in remote areas. Traditional loan origination and management systems, even without the support of a digital lending platform, involve complex paperwork, in-person documentation, and higher operational costs, which can overwhelm borrowers and limit the growth of microfinance institutions.

This highlights the dire need for innovative financial solutions, and digital lending emerges as a promising avenue. Through technology, digital lending platform can break down the barriers that hinder financial inclusivity and offer more accessible alternatives – including online applications, KYC documentation, risk assessment, digital document verification, and automated loan processing.

We bring you a 6-step playbook that can reinvent the loan origination and management process. But before that, let us take a look at some of the primary drawbacks of manual loan processing.

Manual loan processing – slow, inefficient, and risky

The traditional, paper-based approach to loan processing is starting to feel like a relic of the past. While it may have made good for decades, the limitations of manual methods are now becoming increasingly apparent.

Check out the challenges that financial institutions relying solely on manual processes face:

Limited transparency: Answering loan inquiries and sharing information manually can cause gaps in understanding and clarity. This limited transparency can frustrate borrowers and delay the loan application process.

Scalability issues: Paper-based loan application forms are tedious and difficult to manage, especially with growing volume. This can create bottlenecks and impede the institution’s capability to expand rapidly.

Limited accessibility: Requiring in-person document verification can be inconvenient for borrowers who live in remote areas or have busy schedules. This can restrict the institution’s reach and potentially alienate prospects.

High operational costs: Manual processes are often labor-intensive and expensive to maintain. These high costs can limit the institution’s ability to offer competitive interest rates and grow its market share.

Increased risk: Manual processes are more prone to errors, fraud, and documentation loss. These can erode customer trust, damage the institution’s reputation, and lead to regulatory non-compliance.

Inefficient monitoring: Manual methods make it challenging to track borrower behavior and identify potential risks that can threaten the institution’s financial health.

As the financial industry continues to evolve, manual loan processing is no longer a viable long-term solution. Financial institutions must embrace digital transformation and explore innovative technologies that streamline their operations and mitigate the risks associated with manual processes.

The transformative shift to digital lending – a step-by-step playbook

In Latin America, over 40% of lenders have already embraced a digital platform for loan origination. Digital lending reduces the time and cost attached to traditional lending by automating and streamlining the lending process.

The average time for loan disbursement can be as short as 24 hours with digital processes, while it can be 30 days with the traditional approach.

The transition to digital loan origination and management involves several key steps, each of which plays a part in ensuring a smooth and efficient loan process:

Inquiry management

By digitizing the inquiry process, MFIs can efficiently manage inquiries from multiple channels—branches, walk-ins, online applications, and existing inquiries. Automating the responses can ensure quicker turnaround time and better management of potential borrowers.

Lead and online application processing

Digitization enables detailed online application forms, document uploads, and verification processes, including soft credit pulls and credit bureau checks. This speeds up the application process and enhances the accuracy of borrower assessments.

Lead verification

Digital lending platforms can also execute ID verification, e-KYC, biometric authentication, and real-time background checks. This lessens the fraud risk and ensures that only suitable borrowers move to the next stage of the lending process.

Loan disbursement

Once a loan is approved, the funds are distributed automatically, with real-time notifications to borrowers and stakeholders. Automated validation checks ensure regulatory requirements are complied with, reducing the risk of errors.

Loan servicing and monitoring

Digital loan origination and management platforms offer an interactive loan status dashboard and customer self-service portals, allowing borrowers to track their loan status and initiate online payments. Reports generated by these platforms enable institutions to monitor loan performance and portfolio health, enabling informed decision-making.

Collection management

Adopting digital processes eases collections through bank payments, electronic fund transfers, and mobile wallets. Automated payment reminders/notifications help reduce delinquencies, while integrated collection processing ensures timely follow-ups on overdue accounts.

How can AI take over the lending process?

AI-driven credit scoring

AI can evaluate data loads, including non-traditional sources such as mobile phone usage and social media activity. This allows AI to create more inclusive and authentic credit scores, opening up access to credit for individuals with restricted traditional financial history.

Risk prediction and portfolio stability

Machine learning algorithms can identify subtle patterns in borrower behavior that traditional scoring models might miss, leading to more accurate risk predictions. By anticipating potential defaults, lenders can proactively mitigate risks and enhance portfolio stability.

AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants

AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants provide 24/7 support, helping borrowers through the loan application and providing personalized loan advice. This enhances customer satisfaction while reducing the operational burden on customer service representatives.

It used to impact customer behavior and ultimately the bank’s profitability. But that’s no longer the case as customers today want the flexibility to manage their banking needs on their terms, without having to visit a branch to move money or do other activities.

So the future of financial institutions (FIs) lies in adopting omnichannel solutions that integrate digital and physical channels to provide a unified, personalized and convenient banking experience. In short, an omnichannel banking solution lets you put banking where your customer needs it and let them bank with you as they need to.

In this article, we will understand how omnichannel banking solutions are becoming the backbone of FIs that are set to stay relevant, competitive, and preferred by customers:

Creating New Revenue Streams and Market Opportunities

Omnichannel banking solutions are changing the way FIs approach their business strategies and create new revenue streams. Being able to break into new territories and customer segments is the first and foremost benefit of going omnichannel as it puts customers at the center of the banking infrastructure:

Capturing Untapped Customer Segments

As evident, omnichannel banking allows banks to capture previously untapped customer segments. It helps them cater to tech-savvy millennials and newer, digital native generations who prefer to manage their finances through mobile apps and online platforms of their choice. Since the banking capabilities sit natively on these third-party platforms, banking becomes a small part of their experience on the respective platform while still keeping your FI in the loop. At the same time, omnichannel solutions can cater to the needs of underbanked or unbanked populations by providing accessible and affordable financial services through alternative channels such as mobile wallets and agent banking networks.

Expanding into New Geographical Markets

Omnichannel banking solutions enable financial institutions to break free from the limitations of physical branch networks and expand into new geographical markets. This is done by either combining the physical presence of partners with digital banking capabilities (agency banking) or by digital-first banking solutions like mobile wallets. This lowers the entry barrier as the traditional brick-and-mortar infrastructure is out of the picture while the FI will still manage to meet the target audience’s expectations head on. Hence, omnichannel banking is a great way to tap into previously inaccessible market opportunities, diversify their customer base, and generate new revenue streams.

More Cross-Sell and Upsell Opportunities

With omnichannel banking, there will be more digital touchpoints and more data for banks and FIs to play with. Analyzing that data will help them get to know their customers better – their financial behavior, preferences and needs across those touchpoints. The real benefit is to identify the moments in the customer journey to offer relevant and personal products and services. That means more conversions for cross-sell and upsell.

Personalized Product Recommendations and Targeted Marketing

As we’ve discussed, having granular customer data at your disposal means you can use technologies like machine learning and AI-enabled advanced analytics to run targeted marketing campaigns. For example, if a customer uses their credit card for travel expenses, the bank can proactively offer them a travel rewards credit card or foreign currency exchange service. If a customer’s transaction history shows a growing balance in their savings account, the bank can suggest investment products or wealth management services to help them get more returns. It’s common sense but it requires technology to apply and scale in a volatile, cost conscious market.

Increasing Customer Lifetime Value through Loyalty Programs

Now that we’ve covered that, omnichannel banking solutions also offer FIs another way to retain old customers who are struggling with aging infrastructure and processes: using customer data to create and manage loyalty programs that cover all touchpoints. Reward customers for their engagement and transactions across all channels and you’ll build long term relationships that increase customer lifetime value and repeat business. These loyalty programs can include points based rewards, cashback offers, exclusive discounts and personalized promotions that encourage customers to deepen their relationship with the bank.

Working with Fintech Partners

Since embedded banking has become the new normal, FIs are taking the collaboration route to get omnichannel fast with the help of FinTech players. These partnerships allow banks to tap into the expertise and agility of fintech companies to build and integrate new solutions into the existing banking infrastructure. Together they can co-create products and services that meet the evolving needs of customers and fill the gaps in each other’s business models.

Open Banking and API Driven Architecture

Open banking and API driven architecture are the enablers of omnichannel banking solutions. Banks must expose their APIs to third party developers and fintech companies to create an ecosystem of financial services and applications around themselves. This makes FIs part of the open banking movement which is a win-win for both themselves and the customers.

Operational Efficiency and Cost Optimization

In addition to revenue growth, omnichannel banking solutions also help FIs to streamline their operations, reduce costs and become more efficient. This is done by automating manual processes, consolidating customer data and optimizing resource allocation.

Streamlining Back Office and Reducing Manual Work

Omnichannel banking solutions enable FIs to automate and digitize various back-office processes. This includes account opening, loan origination and compliance checks. Tools like robotic process automation (RPA) and workflow automation tools are becoming more useful in doing so. So, errors and document mismanagement will decline heavily as manual data entry is reduced. While operational efficiency will benefit from automation, the fact that it frees up employee time so they can redirect it to more strategic and customer facing activities is the biggest upside. And that’s even more important as AI is being used with little to no regard for the human touch that is essential to nurture something as important as trust in finance.

Branch Network and Resource Optimization

With omnichannel banking, FIs can strategically optimize their branch network and resource allocation. Underutilization and underperformance of physical branches is a top concern for banks of all sizes and business focus. Customer behavior and preferences across channels.

Looking at customer behavior and preferences across channels, banks can identify opportunities to consolidate or repurpose underperforming branches and invest in high footfall locations and digital capabilities. This data driven approach allows banks to make informed decisions about their physical footprint, staffing and technology investments and ultimately cost efficiency and customer alignment.

Competitive Advantage and Market Positioning

In a competitive and digital first banking world, omnichannel solutions give financial institutions a way to stand out and strengthen their market position. By delivering a better customer experience, innovative products and services and seamless channel integration, banks can build a strong brand and be ahead of the competition.

Working with Fintechs to Innovate

To stay ahead of the game and meet changing customer expectations, financial institutions are working with fintechs to co-create omnichannel banking solutions. By leveraging the agility, expertise and technology of fintech partners, banks can speed up their digital transformation and get new products and services to market faster. These partnerships allow financial institutions to access new revenue streams, enhance their value proposition and be seen as innovation leaders in the industry.

Building a Customer Focused Brand

Omnichannel banking gives financial institutions the opportunity to build a strong brand. By delivering great experiences across all touchpoints banks can build trust, loyalty and advocacy with their customer base. This positive brand will help attract new customers, retain existing ones and differentiate from competitors who may not have omnichannel and customer centricity.

Efficiency and Cost Savings

As well as improving the customer experience, omnichannel banking solutions can also help financial institutions optimize efficiency and reduce costs. By simplifying and automating back-office processes, banks can get rid of manual tasks, reduce errors and increase productivity. For example, implementing robotic process automation (RPA) can automate tasks like account opening, loan processing and compliance checks and free up resources so staff can focus on more strategic activities.

And for banks, digital wallet solutions have emerged as cash cows.

But digital wallets go beyond payment revenue. In this article we’ll explore how digital wallets are changing the customer-bank relationship, opening up new product innovation, data driven personalization and ecosystem partnerships.

Using real world examples and data we’ll cut through the noise to explain why digital wallets are a must have for African banks. We’ll look at the competitive landscape, regulatory considerations and what CEOs can do to get ahead of digital wallets.Let’s get started:

The Business Case for Bank Digital Wallets

Let’s start with the basics: why should banks care about digital wallets? The answer is in the numbers.A 2022 McKinsey report says Africa’s payment revenue will grow 20% CAGR from 2020 to 2025 to $40 billion. Digital payments including digital wallets will be the main driver of this growth as more Africans adopt digital financial services. For banks, this is a big opportunity to capture new revenue streams. By offering digital wallet solutions banks can earn fees on transactions, interest on wallet balances and revenue from value added services like credit and insurance.Across Africa, mobile money users conducted nearly 45 billion transactions in 2022, displaying an increase of more than 8 billion transactions compared to the previous year. Hence the revenue from transaction charges is both lucrative and sustainable. But the opportunity goes beyond payment revenue. Digital wallets also provide banks a platform to cross sell other financial products and services. By analyzing the transaction data generated by digital wallets banks can get deep insights into customer behavior and preferences and offer products highly tailored to them.Ecobank has leveraged digital wallets to expand its product offerings and cross-sell to customers. In 2020, Ecobank launched its ‘Ellevate’ product suite across 33 markets, including products designed for women-owned businesses or companies targeting women customers. The bank aims to use this digital platform to onboard at least 50,000 women business customers annually and grant a minimum of $100 million in loans each year. This demonstrates how digital wallets can serve as a foundation for banks to cross-sell additional financial products like loans to their customer base.

The Competitive Landscape

As digital wallets gain traction in Africa, the competition is heating up. Banks aren’t the only ones in the game. Telcos, fintechs and big tech are all moving in.MobiFin, the digital banking and payments platform, continues to dominate in many African markets. The service, which allows users to store, send, and receive money via their mobile phones, has made impressive inroads in African countries.. MobiFin has been aggressively expanding its digital wallet functionality, adding services like credit, savings, and merchant payments.Other telcos like Airtel, MTN and Orange have followed suit with their own digital wallet offerings. These telco led wallets are a big threat to banks as they can use their large customer base and agent network to drive adoption. On the fintech side, players like Flutterwave, Chipper Cash and OPay are building cross border digital payment networks that can disintermediate traditional banking relationships. They are attracting significant venture capital and growing their user base fast.Even big tech companies are getting in. Facebook’s Libra project, though facing regulatory hurdles, is a clear indication of their interest in the digital payments space. If successful Libra can scale across Facebook’s massive African user base. For bank CEOs this is a wake up call to develop a digital wallet strategy. Banks that don’t move fast will be outflanked by more nimble players. But it’s not just about speed – it’s also about differentiation. With so many players in the space, banks need to think hard about how they can differentiate their digital wallet offerings. This could be unique value added services, loyalty programs or seamless integration with existing banking products. The key is to make your digital wallet an essential part of your customers financial lives.

Digital Currency Wallet as a Revenue Driver

Let’s start with the most obvious reason banks are launching digital wallet offerings: revenue. As mentioned above Africa’s digital payment market is going to grow exponentially in the next few years. For banks, digital wallets are a way to get a piece of that pie.But how do digital wallets drive revenue? There are several ways:

Transaction fees: Every time a customer makes a payment or transfer using their digital wallet the bank earns a small fee. These micropayments can add up fast at scale.Interest on float: The money customers store in their digital wallets isn’t just sitting idle – it’s a low cost deposit for the bank. Banks can earn interest by lending out these funds.Cross-selling: Digital wallets provide banks with a treasure trove of customer transaction and behavior data. This data can be used to cross sell other financial products like loans, insurance and investments in a very targeted way.Ecosystem plays: By positioning their digital wallets as a platform for an ecosystem of partners (e.g. merchants, billers, fintechs) banks can earn revenue through revenue sharing agreements, referral fees and API access charges.

A great example of a bank reaping these rewards is Equity Bank in Kenya. Their Eazzy Banking app which has a digital wallet feature has been a major driver of growth. In 2021 they reported 98% year on year growth in merchant transaction commissions from the app and 73% growth in mobile loans.

The Data Opportunity

Perhaps the most underutilized aspect of digital wallets is the data they generate. Every transaction, every interaction, every click within a digital wallet platform creates data that can be used to understand customer behavior, preferences and needs at an unprecedented level of detail. For banks this is a gold mine. It can be used to personalize products, underwrite credit more accurately, identify cross-sell opportunities and more. Banks can get a much deeper understanding of their customers’ financial lives and design products and services that meet their needs better by analyzing the digital wallet data. But to fully exploit this data opportunity banks need to build strong data analytics capabilities. They need to invest in the technology and talent to collect, store, analyze and act on large volumes of transactional and behavioral data in real-time. They also need to navigate the complex regulatory and consumer trust issues around data privacy and security. The banks that get this right will have a big competitive advantage. They’ll be able to offer more personalized, more timely and more relevant financial services than their competitors. They’ll be able to make better lending decisions, reduce risk and expand credit. And they’ll be able to continually optimize and improve their offerings based on real world usage data.

Reimagining the Customer Relationship

Beyond revenue generation digital wallets are also a tool for banks to reimagine their relationship with customers. Traditionally the customer bank interaction was transactional and infrequent, centered around branch visits or ATM withdrawals. Digital wallets enable a whole new way of engagement. With a digital wallet the bank can be present in the customer’s daily life. Every payment, every transfer, every bill settlement is a touchpoint for the bank to engage the customer. This opens up many possibilities:

Personalization: By analyzing a customer’s digital wallet transaction data banks can get deep insights into their spending habits, financial needs and life events. This data can be used to offer highly personalized product recommendations, financial advice and lifestyle perks.Loyalty: Digital wallets can be a powerful tool for customer loyalty. For example banks can offer cashback rewards, discount coupons or bonus points for transactions made using the wallet. They can also use gamification techniques to encourage habit formation and boost engagement.Financial Education: The digital wallet interface is prime real estate for banks to deliver bite sized financial literacy content. By helping customers better understand and manage their money, banks can build deeper trust and position themselves as a financial wellness partner.

Standard Bank’s MyMo app in South Africa is a great example of a bank using a digital wallet to reimagine customer engagement. The app uses AI to give customers personalized insights and nudges based on their transaction behavior. It also has a loyalty programme that rewards customers for good financial behavior.

The Cross-Border Play

One of the biggest opportunities for digital currency wallets in Africa is in cross-border payments. Intra-African trade is growing but cross-border transactions are still expensive and complicated. Digital wallets can change that.By allowing for instant, low-cost wallet-to-wallet transfers across borders, digital wallets can oil the wheels of intra-African trade. We’re already seeing companies like Chipper Cash and MFS Africa building cross-border digital payment networks that span multiple African countries. At a regional level, initiatives like the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) are also making cross-border digital payments more seamless. PAPSS is a centralized payment clearinghouse that enables real-time settlement of intra-African transactions in local currencies. It’s already live in six West African countries and will roll out continent-wide.For banks, the opportunity is to connect to these cross-border payment networks and offer them to their customers, especially small and medium enterprises involved in intra-African trade. By making cross-border payments faster, cheaper and more transparent, banks can help their customers grow their businesses and capture more of the intra-African trade opportunity. But to really grab this opportunity, banks need to think beyond payments. They need to offer a full suite of cross-border financial services – trade finance, foreign exchange, insurance etc. – and do it all in one seamless digital wallet. The banks that can do this will be the ones to ride the intra-African trade wave in the next few years.

Competing in a Crowded Market

Of course, banks are not the only ones eyeing the digital wallet opportunity in Africa. Telcos, fintechs and big tech companies are all in the mix. For bank CEOs, understanding the competitive landscape is key to developing a digital wallet strategy. One major threat is telco-led mobile money wallets like Safaricom’s M-Pesa, MTN MoMo and Orange Money. These wallets have achieved massive scale in many African markets, using the telcos’ huge agent networks and customer bases. For many unbanked Africans, mobile money wallets are their first taste of digital financial services.Banks’ initial response was to launch their own standalone mobile money offerings. But this didn’t work, as banks couldn’t match the telcos’ distribution and marketing muscle.More recently, forward-thinking banks have gone the partnership route, collaborating with telcos to offer bank-to-wallet services. On the fintech side, companies are aggressively building digital payment and commerce platforms. Fintechs are often more agile and innovative than banks and are getting significant venture funding. To compete with these disruptors, banks need to lean into their strengths – trust, regulatory expertise and balance sheet power – and be open to partnerships and investments to access new capabilities and markets.

The Regulatory Puzzle Around Digital Currency Wallet

Bank digital wallets are innovative and cool but they don’t exist in a regulatory vacuum. As a bank CEO, navigating the complex and evolving regulatory conditions around digital wallets is a key challenge.Regulators across Africa are taking different approaches to digital wallets. Some like the Central Bank of Nigeria have created specific licenses for mobile money operators. Others like the South African Reserve Bank have taken a hands-off approach and allow banks to offer digital wallets under their existing banking licenses. There are also data privacy, customer protection, anti-money laundering and interoperability considerations. As digital wallets go mainstream, regulators will be looking more closely at these. For bank CEOs, proactive engagement with regulators is key. This means being at the table in policy discussions, providing input on draft regulations and sharing best practices from other markets. Banks should also invest in robust compliance and risk management frameworks to stay ahead of changing regulatory expectations.Having said that, regulatory arbitrage can also be a source of competitive advantage. Banks that can navigate the regulatory patchwork quickly to launch new digital wallet offerings can get ahead of slower moving competitors.

Partnering for Bank Digital Wallet Success

One of the key things I’ve learned from watching the digital wallet space evolve is that no bank can go it alone. The most successful digital wallet plays in Africa have been driven by partnerships between banks, telcos and fintechs. Each of these players brings unique assets and capabilities to the table. Banks bring financial expertise, regulatory know-how and customer trust. Telcos bring huge agent networks, mobile infrastructure and a large existing customer base. Fintechs bring agile innovation, cutting edge technology and a focus on user experience.Bringing these assets together through partnerships is the key to building digital wallet solutions that can go mainstream and profitable. For bank CEOs the lesson is clear: don’t build a digital wallet in-house. Focus on your core competencies and find the right telco and fintech partners to fill the gaps. Be prepared to share risk and reward and to iterate quickly based on market feedback.

Key Considerations for CEOs

As African bank CEOs plan their digital wallet strategy there are several key things to consider:

Interoperability is key. As the digital wallet space evolves we will see increasing regulatory and competitive pressure for interoperability between different wallet solutions. Banks should design their digital wallet offerings with interoperability in mind from the start rather than trying to lock customers into closed loop systems. The crypto wildcard. Cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance (DeFi) are wildcards in the digital wallet space. While still in its infancy, they could disrupt traditional financial intermediation. Banks should keep an eye on these developments and consider how they can integrate crypto and DeFi into their digital wallet plans. The super-app threat. Digital wallets are becoming super-apps that offer a wide range of services beyond financial services. From e-commerce to ride-hailing to food delivery, super-apps are vying to be the one-stop-shop for all a consumer’s needs. Banks need to think about how they can position their digital wallet offerings in this landscape, either by building their own super-app or partnering with existing players. The offline challenge. Despite the rapid growth of mobile and internet penetration, the reality is that a significant portion of Africa’s population still lives offline. To truly drive financial inclusion digital wallet solutions need to bridge the online-offline divide, whether through USSD, agent networks or other means. The regulatory tightrope. Digital wallets sit at the intersection of multiple regulatory domains – banking, telecoms, data protection, competition etc. Navigating this regulatory hotchpotch is a tightrope walk. Banks need to engage with regulators to shape the rules of the road for digital wallets and also have the compliance capabilities to adapt to changing requirements.

However, a significant portion of the population in Africa remains underserved or entirely excluded from it. As per the World Economic Forum, around 48%of Africa’s population now uses banking services, a major leap forward in financial inclusion. The traditional banking model of establishing physical branches calls for heavy capex investment and is often impractical in remote and rural areas.

In the face of such challenges, agency bankinghas emerged as a growth engine for Africa’s financial ecosystem. By leveraging existing networks of local businesses and entrepreneurs as banking agents, agency banking expands the reach of financial services beyond physical bank branches. This approach not only addresses logistical and cost barriers but also brings banking services within the reach of underserved communities, where they live and work.

As we delve deep into the role of agency banking in advancing financial inclusion across Africa, we will examine key factors.

In this blog, we will be assessing the strategic benefits of agency banking, key challenges in financial inclusion, technological innovations, and future prospects for sustainable growth.

Assessing Financial Inclusion in Africa

Financial inclusion in Africa is undergoing a transformational shift fueled by the growing use of agency banking solutions and technological innovation. These represent a big step toward more inclusive financial systems, with mobile technology and vast agent networks playing critical roles in closing the gap between formal financial services and underprivileged people. Despite these advances, substantial gaps continue, especially in distant places where traditional banking infrastructure is limited.

The financial inclusion scenario can be summarized on three major fronts:

Adoption of Mobile Banking Solutions

The development of mobile banking solutions has been a key component of financial inclusion in Africa, allowing for better access to banking services, particularly in financially excluded communities.

Growth of Agency Banking Models

The success of agency banking models has been a growth engine to boost financial inclusion by leveraging local agent networks and lowering access barriers in rural and remote areas.

Status of Rural Access

Despite improvements, obstacles in expanding financial services to rural and distant areas persist, emphasizing the continuous need for new solutions, such as agency banking, to address these gaps successfully.

Strategic Benefits of Agency Banking

Expanding Reach to Underserved Populations

Agency banking solutions enable local agents to bring financial services to the rural and underserved communities. Banks can reach beyond urban areas and physical branch networks by leveraging the agents’ community networks. This approach not only improves financial inclusion but also boosts economic activity in underserved areas.

Reducing Operational Costs

Agency banking is a less expensive option than opening and operating traditional bank offices. Banks can drastically cut operational costs related to infrastructure and manpower by using local businesses and individuals as agents. These cost savings can be reinvested to strengthen bank service offerings and improve the quality of financial services provided through agency banking channels.

Enhancing Customer Experience

Agency banking improves the customer experience by bringing financial services closer to people’s homes and workplaces. Customers can carry out transactions with local agents, avoiding the need for long travels to physical bank branches. Such convenience is especially useful in underserved locations where access to formal financial services has traditionally been limited.

Key Challenges and Mitigation Strategies

Infrastructure and Connectivity Issues

One key problem for agency banking in Africa is unstable connectivity in remote regions. Banks must invest in strong technical solutions and collaborate with telecom carriers to overcome this. They can improve network coverage and dependability to provide seamless transaction processing and data protection, expanding agency banking services’ reach.

Ensuring Security and Building Trust

Security is a critical consideration in agency banking operations. To safeguard customer data and transactions, banks must put in place strict security procedures and protocols. Building trust with customers and agents is equally important, necessitating transparency and educating stakeholders about fraud prevention and security standards.

Empowering Local Agents with Agent Network Training and Support

Agency banking’s effectiveness is determined by the expertise and dependability of local agents. Banks should focus on comprehensive training programs and continuing assistance for agents to ensure they have the requisite skills and proficiency. Continuous training and support empower agents to provide quality services to improves overall customer experience and operational efficiency.

Technological Innovations Driving Agency Banking

Enhancing Access and Convenience with Mobile Technology

Mobile technology is the key to increasing the reach of agency banking services across Africa. Customers can use mobile banking apps and USSD codes to make transactions quickly and easily, removing the need for physical banking infrastructure. This accessibility promotes financial inclusion and gives customers greater control over their funds.

Using Data Analytics to Optimize Service Delivery

They now expect on-demand access, real-time updates, and instant transactions. Core banking solutions power such great user experiences, ensuring smooth and convenient financial transactions while working as a backbone for banks.

Like every other technology, core banking solutions must be updated and modernized. In fact, McKinsey research shows that legacy solutions cost banks ten times more to run than modern core banking systems. Legacy core banking solutions are past their prime, making it hard for banks to offer new features and keep up with the latest technology.

This blog delves into why legacy systems are falling behind and how modern core banking solutions can help banks become more effective and innovative to make their customers happy.

Fall of Legacy Core Banking Solutions

Created decades ago, legacy core banking systems are no longer fit to handle the demands of today’s financial ecosystem. Such core banking solutions operate in silos and struggle to integrate with newer technologies. Here’s how they can hold banks back:

Limited Agility

Legacy core banking solutions are quite rigid and cannot adapt to newer technologies like mobile banking, cloud computing, and APIs. Banks cannot keep pace with fintech startups and the evolving demands of mobile-first customers. Since legacy core banking solutions are challenging to integrate with modern ones, they disrupt the digital experience for customers and banks alike.

Data Silos

Legacy systems store data in isolation, making data silos. Customer information is separated across different databases, making it hard to get a holistic view. Disparate data hinders innovation and makes personalized product recommendations and data-driven marketing strategies an uphill battle.

Costly Upkeep

Managing legacy core banking solutions is expensive. Gitnux research says banks spend nearly 78% of their IT budgets maintaining them. On the other hand, the same research says that with modern core banking solutions, banks can save up to 25% on their costs. Overall, legacy systems can strain operational budgets and leave less innovative scope.

Fintech Friction

Legacy core banking systems hold back banks in the combative FinTech space. Modern core banking solutions are built for speed and scale, which is essential for banks to compete with FinTech, agile startups, and neobanks. Legacy solutions also prevent banks from offering newer financial services and experiences, leaving customers unhappy and limiting the bank’s innovativeness.

Rise of Modern Core Banking Systems

Modern core banking solutions can be deployed on the cloud, on-premise, or hybrid, each catering to specific needs. Regardless of the model chosen, they offer a strong foundation for building future-proof banks – some of the very reasons why modern core banking systems are on the rise:

Open Innovation

APIs in core banking systems act as digital bridges, enabling integration with innovative fintech solutions. For instance, a bank could integrate a budgeting app into its core system, helping customers manage finances directly within their mobile banking platform.

Flexibility

Modern core banking solutions allow you to integrate new functionalities or upgrade existing ones without overtaking the entire system. This encourages faster time to market for new products and services, giving banks the much-needed edge in the competitive environment.

Regulatory Compliance

The finance industry needs to keep pace with timely regular updates. Modern core banking solutions make it easy for banks to comply with new regulatory requirements without disturbing operations.

Security First

Modern core banking solutions offer robust security features, such as encryption and multi-factor authentication, to keep financial data safe and provide peace of mind for banks and customers.

(Must Read – Are Digital Core Banking Solutions Game Changers? )

User Expectations from Core Banking Systems

Beyond Banking

Users expect a multitude of financial services, including budgeting tools, investment opportunities, or third-party integrations with financial apps from banks. The good news? Core banking systems can easily integrate with all such services.

Personalization Matters

Users appreciate a personalized touch, regardless of the service. Modern core banking systems can help banks offer customized financial products and services based on user needs and preferences.

Speed is Key

Nobody likes to wait days, or even hours, for transaction updates. Users now expect real-time processing, prompt notifications, and quick updates, and the core banking solutions must be able to handle them effectively.

AI-powered Assistance

Integrating AI chatbots or virtual assistants within the core system can enhance the user experience. These tools can answer basic questions, resolve simple issues, and offer personalized recommendations – in real-time.

How Modern Core Banking Solutions Help Future-Proof Banks?

Personalized Banking Experiences

Modern core banking solutions offer banks a high level of personalization. Through advanced data analytics, these solutions examine customer behavior, financial goals, and spending patterns in depth. This aids banks in offering custom recommendations to their customers. For example, banks can give investment suggestions and credit card offers depending on an individual profile.

Faster Financial Services

Modern core banking solutions empower real-time transaction processing, faster loan approvals, and quick account updates. Users can access accounts, send or receive money, and pay bills anytime through user-friendly applications or online portals. It’s fair to say that faster services directly relate to higher customer satisfaction.

Africa’s banking system is unfolding a resurgence. Longer distance, limited branch access, and queues are now becoming a thing of the past, while mobile phones are fast turning into new bank branches.

Millions of Africans, once excluded from traditional financial systems, now embrace ubiquitous mobile banking and FinTech. The rising desire for a frictionless and personalized banking experience drives this swirl.

Here’s where omnichannel banking comes in, poised to be the next deal breaker. It envisions a future where your phone is a financial hub – the mobile wallet, online bank, and even the bank branch all work together seamlessly. This interconnected approach makes African banking more inclusive and convenient.

Forrester says 38% of customers need service agents to know who they are and their past queries—fairly, omnichannel banking solution best meets this expectation.

Omnichannel banking is set to revolutionize the African financial market, but is Africa ready? Let us understand Africa’s financial scenario and how the omnichannel banking platform can empower it.

Banking in Africa – The Captivating Blend of Old and New

Brick-and-mortar branches

In Africa, traditional banks with physical branches are still a common phenomenon. These physical branches offer essential financial services to Africans, especially in rural segments with limited internet connectivity. Physical branches provide a sense of security and familiarity to people living in rural areas.

Mobile money on the rise

Africa is leading the way in mobile money adoption. Services like M-Pesa in Kenya and MTN Mobile Money in Nigeria allow people to utilize their phones to pay bills, transmit and receive money, and even save. This has been a game-changer for financial inclusion, serving those who lack access to traditional banking.

FinTech is here to stay

Innovative FinTech startups are popping up all over Africa, offering new financial products and services. They’re leveraging technology to make banking faster, easier, and more accessible for everyone.

Challenges that Traditional Banks Face

While this unique blend creates exciting opportunities, there are hurdles, too. Traditional banks may seem less attractive because of mobile money’s convenience and reach. So, banks need to find ways to integrate mobile banking with their branch.

Moreover, mobile money helps, but Africa still has a largely unbanked population. So, banks need to reach the underserved through agency banking or low-cost branch services.

Opportunities for Omnichannel Banking

Along with streamlining banking operations, omnichannel banking enables banks to create a unified experience across all their touchpoints, from online banking to contact centers. This allows customers to initiate the process online, and the completion can be done offline or vice versa.

Mobile phone penetration and internet access are at an all-time high in Africa, which makes this time perfect for creating a fertile ground for a new way of innovation in banking. Omnichannel banking is set to provide seamless integration and personalized CX to revolutionize how Africans approach banking and finance as a whole.

How Omnichannel Banking Solution Can Empower Africa’s Financial Future?

At the core, omnichannel banking is about breaking down silos. An omnichannel banking solution seamlessly integrates all the banking channels – mobile apps, ATMs, physical branches, online, USSD into an integrated experience. This ensures a steady customer experience irrespective of the channel.

To explain this better, you need to pay a bill, so you quickly check your balance on your bank’s mobile app and see that you have enough funds. Reaching the counter to pay, you realize you’ve forgotten your debit card.

Next, you pull your phone out and pay using the bank’s mobile wallet. Back home, you log into online banking to confirm payment and see the updated balance. This omnichannel experience lets you manage your finances conveniently, no matter where you are.

Having said that, a recent McKinsey study estimates that nearly 2.5 billion people face financial exclusivity, primarily in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Traditional banking models, with their limited branch networks and complex procedures, often fail to reach these underserved communities. But the good thing is there is a way to bridge this gap.

Financial Inclusion 2.0, powered by a robust agency banking solution, can transform the dynamics of financial access in underserved markets. Think of it like your everyday convenience store for your banking needs. An agency banking solution is a game-changer for the underbanked.

Let’s dive deeper to understand how a disruptive agent banking solution can ensure financial inclusion.

Why Financial Inclusion Matters?

Individuals and families who do not receive essential financial services are trapped in a cycle of vulnerability. They face trouble accessing saving options or getting credit for emergencies and often fall prey to exorbitant interest rates. This not only impacts an individual’s well-being but also hinders economic development.

The absence of traditional bank branches in remote and low-income communities exposes a critical need for financial inclusion. For banks, the high cost of setting up and running physical branches in these areas makes them less profitable, leading them to focus on developed markets.

Redefining Financial Inclusion with Agency Banking

Agency Banking is a disruptive force that can redefine financial inclusion globally. This innovative model leverages existing retail stores, postal services, and third-party agents to offer financial services to the customers of licensed banks or financial institutions.

Agency banking solutions can expand the reach of traditional banking through partnerships with local shops or individuals who act as agents. These agents are equipped with mobile technology and training and transform into mini banks to offer services to unbanked communities.

Agency banking eliminates travel barriers and simplifies account opening processes with minimal documentation. This empowers the underbanked to participate in the formal financial system, offering them a broader range of services beyond primary deposits and withdrawals. They can now pay bills, transfer money to loved ones, and even explore microloans to invest in their farms.

By tapping into these ubiquitous networks, agency banking brings banking services closer to underserved communities, overcoming geographical barriers and lowering the costs of financial inclusion.

Technology’s Role in Agent Banking that Powers Financial Inclusion 2.0

Security at your Fingertips with Biometric Authentication

It’s fair to say that biometric authentication is the future of agency banking. There is no longer a need to fuss over forgotten passwords or lost cards. Biometric authentication, such as fingerprint scanning, adds a significant layer of security to every transaction related to agency banking. An individual simply needs to place their finger on the scanner at his local agent for account accessibility. This erases the need to remember passwords and reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Biometric authentication is the most secure way for users to manage their finances using agency banking solutions.

Transparency Through Real-Time Transaction Updates

Trust is imperative when it comes to financial services. So, agency banking solutions leverage technology to ensure transparency. Alerts enable users to monitor their finances on an instant basis. Let’s take an example of an individual sending money to a family member with the help of an agent. They can receive real-time transaction updates through SMS/email/Whatsapp alerts and account statements, encouraging more control and security. Such transparency builds trust and encourages greater adoption of agent banking platforms.

Choosing the wrong core banking solution can lead to operational inefficiencies, compliance issues, and a poor customer experience, ultimately affecting an institution’s bottom line and reputation.

To avoid such pitfalls, it’s critical to approach the selection process with a strategic mindset, considering the institution’s unique requirements, future growth plans, and the ever-changing regulatory landscape.

This piece will unveil the significance of a core banking solution being appropriately chosen and also bring to light five major mistakes that, in most cases, are made during the selection process.

Through insights into these pitfalls and preventing possible measures, banks and financial institutions can begin a journey of increased profitability, satisfied customers, and sustainable growth.

The Five Pillars of Core Banking Solution

The basics of a banking system resistant to outside influences require five supporting pillars: the basis for its function and sustainability.

These five pillars are fundamental to banks and other financial institutions that aim to use core banking technology to facilitate processes, improve client experiences, and drive growth.

Let’s go through the pillars and their importance within a core banking infrastructure system:

1. Account Management

Right in the center of the core banking solution is account management, which has to be very powerful.

This pillar comes into sight through functionalities connected with the opening, maintaining, and managing of customer accounts in many products, such as savings accounts, current accounts, term deposits, and loan accounts.

Banks rarely manage their accounts efficiently, which allows them to open customer accounts without any hiccup, to process transactions accurately and timely, and to provide customer support rapidly.

Thus, the foundation of close relationships between banks and their customers is based on high satisfaction.

2. Transaction Processing

Transaction processing represents the cornerstone of the core banking operations that offer fast and easy execution of the financial transactions between customers, counterparties, and financial organizations.

The last pillar provides the means to realize actions like payment processing, fund transfers, settling, and reconciliation.

A high-grade financial transaction processing system providing for effective and secure movement of funds, concurrent real-time transaction tracking, and improved bank operation efficiency serves as a platform for meeting the growing customer expectations of speed, reliability, and transparency.

3. Risk Management and Compliance

In today’s world of complicated regulatory matters, competent risk management and monitoring are of primary importance for institutions to ensure their assets are secure, their operations are within regulations, and the corporate risks are reduced.

One of the operation’s pillars includes risk assessment, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection functions.

By establishing strict risk management and compliance systems, banks can identify, eliminate, and prevent incurring these risks, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and anti-financial crime efforts, enabling them to keep a good reputation and confidence of the customers and stakeholders.

4. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Customer care, manifested in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships, is the most critical aspect of any financial institution.

The CRM pillar covers tools for determining the customers’ needs, habits, and perceptions, and for the output, it expected customer differentiation in service provision, products, and experience.

Using customer data analytics, segmentation, and marketing automation tools, banks can create deeper engagement, better cross-selling opportunities, and increase long-term loyalty and commitment from customers, thus maximizing lifetime value and profitability.

5. Channel Integration and Omnichannel Banking

The modern digital age has customers exclusively conceiving of using banking services through multiple channels such as online banking, mobile banking, branch banking, and self-service kiosks. The integration of channels and omnichannel banking pillar includes functions that give clients consistency, harmony, and personalized habits across all touchpoints and channels. By connecting the individual channels, data, and systems into a singular ecosystem, banks can achieve smooth cross-channel transactions, real-time information flows, and a fluid banking experience aligned with the fast-moving advancement of today’s digitally intelligent customers.

These pillars have been designed to combine operational efficiency, customer experience, and long-term success and achievement for banks and other financial institutions in the ever-competitive and dynamic marketplace.

As a result, banks have changed to meet evolving client needs. All industries, including retail banks, have already undergone this transition, and there has been an increased usage of omnichannel banking solution.

Retail banks have moved away from physical locations and increased their online presence through multi-channel tactics. Customers can now contact retail banks through various touchpoints, including mobile apps, websites, offline branches, kiosks, an e-lobby, agents, Whatsapp, chat agents, and more In 2023, the market for omnichannel retail commerce platforms will increase to US$11.01 billion, expanding quickly at a CAGR of 21.48%.

Retail banks require an omnichannel approach in the modern day; a multi-channel strategy will not cut it.

Let us define an omnichannel banking solution before discussing how to choose one. Thanks to an omnichannel banking solution, a financial institution and its customers can communicate continuously and seamlessly across several channels. Each channel seeks to have a consistent message and voice in this.

What is Omnichannel Banking?

An Omnichannel Banking strategy involves seamlessly integrating multiple channels to deliver an uninterrupted experience. These solutions can also record user insights and suggest intuitive solutions using AI. The omnichannel banking approach has all the ingredients to transform the banking experience for the consumers.

What are Omnichannel Banking Solutions?

Omnichannel banking platforms play a crucial role in today’s digital-driven financial services landscape, providing customers with seamless and convenient access to banking services through various online and offline channels.

These solutions, which include online and mobile banking, ATMs, branch banking, video banking, chatbots, AI assistants, telephone banking, social media banking, contactless payments, and API banking, enable customers to manage their finances round-the-clock in a personalized and efficient manner. Furthermore, they empower banks to maintain a competitive edge by continuously adapting to evolving customer demands, preferences, and technological advancements. Ultimately, implementing omnichannel banking solutions ensures enhanced customer satisfaction and loyalty, leading to long-term growth and success for banks in an increasingly digital world.

When is the Right Time to Seek Omnichannel Solutions for Banks?

Even though customers enjoy the convenience digital channels offer, they still desire branch services. Additionally, a customer’s preference for digital channels is influenced by the type of banking product they are using. For instance, customers would prefer online payments rather than dropping off a cheque at their neighborhood bank. Although they will conduct preliminary research on the products using digital channels, customers prefer to deal directly at the branch for complex products like investments or mortgages.

Omnichannel solutions can significantly help you when your clients are using digital channels for their research, competitor analysis, understanding the market trends, etc., and you need to provide them the encouragement they need to stop by your branch.

Important Steps to Choose the Right Omnichannel Banking Solution Provider

The omnichannel banking solution can be crucial in defining how precisely banks and FIs can give impactful services to their consumers. Knowing how to choose one is crucial for this reason. You can evaluate them based on specific criteria, such as:

Efficiency of Implementation

Omnichannel solutions is one of a company’s most difficult tasks to accomplish. This does sound quite stressful.

Comprehensive Omnichannel banking solution providers guarantee the effectiveness and speed of the entire process. Due to the rapidly changing environment and trends, marketing has become swift and responsive, prompting service providers to respond quickly.

Level of Security

This is unquestionably one of the most crucial elements to consider before implementing any solution. Your customer’s data will be completely accessible to the platform, ensuring security is never jeopardized.

To keep your data secure, you must fully comprehend the security procedures the solution uses.

Better Customer Support

In times of crisis, the providers of omnichannel solutions occasionally need help with the integration of communication. The PR department should develop messaging for the scenario, but the omnichannel solution provider should ensure that messages are distributed across all company platforms. Ensuring that all channels’ tones and topics are consistent is another crucial step.

By having consistent responses and quicker calls to action across all the company’s channels, omnichannel solution providers also aid in consumer redress. When the business is in disaster management mode, the service provider cannot leave. Through astute consumer support, omnichannel banking solution becomes a win-win formula to enhance consumer experience.

Understand the Technology Landscape

Banks and FIs must understand the financial technology landscape before transitioning from a multi-channel ecosystem to an omnichannel one. Many new technologies are gaining popularity, including automation, blockchain, cloud services, AI, and machine learning.

If banks want to move more quickly, they must use this technology. If banking organizations want to determine how to enhance the client experience, data will be the primary actor. Choose a technology based on your current infrastructure and the skills of the technology partner you hire.

Suitable for Your Domain

The most crucial factor in selecting the proper omnichannel solution provider is determining whether the company’s characteristics and ideals align with one’s organization. The client and the service provider must share the same business principles; otherwise, a conflict of interest may arise.

Before assessing other traits, this component is the most crucial. The most important question for the corporation is whether this company is appropriate for its business. After this, the company can then consider other criteria based on the provider’s performance.

The Solution Must be Business Centric

To deliver omnichannel solutions, the provider must keep up with the rest of the industry and have access to the most cutting-edge knowledge and resources. This is one of the most important considerations when choosing a supplier because a company frequently seeks outside assistance because it lacks the necessary technical expertise.

Using a third-party omnichannel banking solution provider becomes necessary because many businesses need help implementing their solutions. Their work is laser-focused and exact due to their specialty in working according to market trends.

Conclusion: Having the Right Omnichannel Solution Provider is Pivotal for your Business

Choosing the right provider of omnichannel solutions can be challenging, but the advice can be a haven for those considering the vast array of available possibilities. If the proper decision is made, the omnichannel solution provider will become the business’s finest ally as the two parties advance together.
